The clouds are coming...

Dreams are my inspiration,
they are my shining visions
but I do not live in dreams...
I live here and now.
I work hard to manifest my dreams
but they are not free,
there is a cost.

Perhaps they will manifest,
perhaps they will remain dreams
but I wont spend my day wishing
when I should be working,
I wont pray alone when I should be planning
and I wont inhabit my dreams with angels,
they will be populated with people.
In time, I will learn patience
and I will learn humility.

I SIT AND THINK

I sit beside the fire and think
Of all that I have seen
Of meadow flowers and butterflies
In summers that have been

Of yellow leaves and gossamer
In autumns that there were
With morning mist and silver sun
And wind upon my hair

I sit beside the fire and think
Of how the world will be
When winter comes without a spring
That I shall ever see

For still there are so many things
That I have never seen
In every wood in every spring
There is a different green

I sit beside the fire and think
Of people long ago
And people that will see a world
That I shall never know

But all the while I sit and think
Of times there were before
I listen for returning feet
And voices at the door

THE GARDENER

The Gardener

The gardener does not love to talk.
He makes me keep the gravel walk;
And when he puts his tools away,
He locks the door and takes the key.

Away behind the currant row,
Where no one else but cook may go,
Far in the plots, I see him dig,
Old and serious, brown and big.

He digs the flowers, green, red, and blue,
Nor wishes to be spoken to.
He digs the flowers and cuts the hay,
And never seems to want to play.

Silly gardener! summer goes,
And winter comes with pinching toes,
When in the garden bare and brown
You must lay your barrow down.

Well now, and while the summer stays,
To profit by these garden days
O how much wiser you would be
To play at Indian wars with me!

Worry....Not

Worry is so much like a disease...
a repeating loop of a broken thought ...

It is a whisper that doesn't live in the here and now.... unfocused on solutions, or creativity or imagination.

It doesn't make plans, it doesn't seek light.
It is a self inflicted nightmare that feeds on its wounded self.

It is incorrectly given legitimacy, attention, and often confused with caring but it is the scent of demise... a bleeding soul.. Illness of will... a woeful fog that cannot produce anything other than misery.

Worst of all... is it contagious....

ALL THE WORLD'S A STAGE

All the world's a stage,
And all the men and women merely players;
They have their exits and their entrances,
And one man in his time plays many parts,
His acts being seven ages.

At first, the infant,
Mewling and puking in the nurse's arms.

Then the whining schoolboy, with his satchel
And shining morning face, creeping like snail
Unwillingly to school.

And then the lover,
Sighing like furnace, with a woeful ballad
Made to his mistress' eyebrow.

Then a soldier,
Full of strange oaths and bearded like the pard,
Jealous in honor, sudden and quick in quarrel,
Seeking the bubble reputation
Even in the cannon's mouth.

And then the justice,
In fair round belly with good capon lined,
With eyes severe and beard of formal cut,
Full of wise saws and modern instances;
And so he plays his part.

The sixth age shifts
Into the lean and slippered pantaloon,
With spectacles on nose and pouch on side;
His youthful hose, well saved, a world too wide
For his shrunk shank, and his big manly voice,
Turning again toward childish treble, pipes
And whistles in his sound.

Last scene of all,
That ends this strange eventful history,
Is second childishness and mere oblivion,
Sans teeth, sans eyes, sans taste, sans everything.

~ William Shakespeare

Memories ...

MEMORY!!

WooHOOO!!! I'm on Vacation!!!  Time to wander? Explore? Experience? Rest? Create? or simply...float down a stream? I'm happy..quietly happy.

The most wonderful part of it all is being able to REMEMBER each moment I had yesterday and the day before.

It is a most regretful realization when after a moment in time.. a moment of freedom to wander ... I cannot recollect what happened during my time. Few things are worse than being free and having time pass by without you in it...without memory of it.

Beauty is not just a moment and encounter... that comes and goes... it is the recollection of beauty itself that lives again and again within you ... it swirls and dances long after the moment has passed.

Memory is the seed that becomes a forest of joy, and love... It is inspiration, laughter, smiles, longing, a dream we hold on to dearly... and then ... if we're lucky ... it transforms into motivation... to discover it again!

MAD MONSTER PARTY

A full moon
brings out the monster in you...
A strange tune seems to be playing for you.

Could you be someone's invention?
So unreal as you feel tonight?

Did you sell your soul to the devil
at that monster party last night?

Mad Mad Mad Monster Party

Did you sell your soul to Mephistopheles?
Tell me baby ...tell me ...tell me please

If you made a date with the devil...not me
If you know my fate
Honey level ... with me.

A cold night
brings out the creature in you.
A strange light seems to be falling on you...

I know it's not your intention
to frighten me so tonight

...or to tell me baby what happened
at that monster party last night

Mad Mad Mad Monster Party

Last night....
