Dear Ignorance
Im supposed to make peace with you...
learn to live side by side...
dismiss what you've done.
I was content to ignore you,
to sidestep you,
to out run you,
and it seemed to work for a great many years.
I had almost forgotten you existed
in any meaningful way
then you made it a point to rise once again
and ravage relentlessly.
Some now even worship you
and call you friend.
Waging war on you just seems
to mean more bloodshed.
You've found allies in disease, fear, and loneliness
among others
and you've even come to look like some I care for.
I don't know what to do
but I fear in the end
there can only be you or I
... not we.
I don't know...
but i'm still searching for an answer
